Academy of Hospitality and Tourism (AoHT)
In room 364, at Galileo, students embarked on an epic career technical education (CTE) course, otherwise known as the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism (AoHT).
Under the one of a kind Ms. Kapchan, we cranked out project after project. Here are just a few. Enjoy or destroy. You live your own life. Don't let me tell you what to do or how to live. |
AoHT Reflection
I've never once dreaded walking into room 364 but I am gonna miss walking into it. As the year comes to an end, so does my time in this pathway. I've learned so much about the industry, about myself, and my city. AoHT has empowered me. I know that I have the ability to succeed and also the skills to work a room. Ms. Kapchan has given me the opportunity to flourish and grow as an individual through creative group and individual projects, The number of events and showcases I have gone to can't be counted on a single hand. Without Kapchan's help, I would never have been able to win the TMASF $500 scholarship. I had so much fun on the various field trips such as Muir Woods, the Food Crawl, and the Via Hotel. I networked at the SFUSD CTE showcases and I learned how to fund raise through countless food fest "failures". Failures is in quotes because every failure is an opportunity to learn and improve.
I wish I put more energy than I already had into this class because it is one that I will take the most from. No other class taught me how to shake hands, write a resume, or how to sell myself.
I am going to miss this class and I hope it will miss me too. Good luck to everyone taking her new entrepreneurship pathway. I wish you all success. |

I pitched my business plan to Nifty and won 2nd place in my bracket. Overall, it was a really fun experience. The judges were very nice and offered good feedback. They really try to help you understand what you could improve on.
These are some extra slides and posters that were created during the process
